Job Description
Auto Claims Adjuster – Overview Join our growing and dynamic Vehicle Protects Solutions team that supports well over 48 million vehicles worldwide across an ever‑evolving automotive industry. As an Auto Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for determining the eligibility of coverage on claims called in by repair shops. You will also have an opportunity to leverage your auto and mechanical knowledge to adjudicate claims based on facts and policy language for multiple product lines, including but not limited to automobiles, recreational vehicles, and powersports. This position requires direct interaction with customers, clients, and automotive facilities, so you will need to have strong organization. Work schedule requires flexibility to work hours between 8:00am and 5:00pm EST Monday through Friday, and a rotating 12‑8pm shift throughout the week. This is an on‑site role that offers flexibility to work from home at our facility in Hamilton, ON. Responsibilities Respond to and resolve client and customer issues in a timely and positive manner, including inbound calls, outbound calls, email, fax, and chat. Execute effective processes to manage handling, data entry, and data integrity for all applicable claims. Research coverage verification, missing contracts, and other simple issues from the contact center. Ensure timely response to all customer/client requests, proposing and implementing meaningful solutions. Adhere to standards for effective job performance and development. Participate in training programs and quality assessment standards to support departmental goals and recommend improvements. Review coverage using all available tools, including contract and web‑based applications, to resolve complex issues and refer any unresolved matters to the supervisor or management. Adjudicate claims accurately, working directly with repair facilities, inspection parts vendors, and other resources to ensure proper claims adjudication within departmental standards and in accordance with applicable laws and policy provisions. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of customer service and automotive experience (e.g., Automotive Technician, Service Advisor, Service Writer, Parts Specialist). Minimum of 2 years of computer experience using multiple Windows applications. Ability to quickly adapt to change, proactively recognize process improvement opportunities, and work independently as well as in a team setting. Ability to process time‑sensitive data from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and communicate related actions to a broad audience. Work collaboratively with others to generate ideas or resolve problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with team members, management, and customers. Preferred Qualifications Class A Mechanic License. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and under deadlines. Ability to think creatively and make decisions based on incomplete information. Compensation Pay Range: $49,600.00 – $82,100.00.
