Job Description
Role Summary Senior Speech‑Language Therapist (Critical Care) – fixed‑term (August 2026 to 23 July 2027). Provide leadership and clinical expertise across the ICU and acute wards at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals. Responsibilities Lead daily caseload management meetings. Provide advanced instrumental assessment (VFSS, FEES) and tracheostomy competencies. Develop and implement therapy for patients with communication difficulties. Participate in service development, quality projects, and evidence‑based practice. Co‑coach and develop other SLTs and allied health staff. Support 7‑day per week SLT service, including weekend shift participation. Qualifications & Experience New Zealand professional qualification in Speech‑Language Therapy or NZSTA approval for overseas qualification. NZSTA membership. Minimum 5years clinical experience. Strong clinical skillset in a critical‑care environment, including instrumental assessment, tracheostomy, and therapy for communication impairment. Experience leading and/or coaching and developing others. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and evidence‑based practice skills. Benefits Competitive salary scale.
