About the Role As a Registered Nurse in the new Surgical Assessment and Planning Unit (SAPU), you will play a key role in providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. SAPU is a 28‑bed short‑stay surgical ward, including six dedicated assessment beds for acute surgical patients. The unit was developed to support early surgical assessment, reduce delays to care, improve inpatient flow, and relieve pressure on the Emergency Department and inpatient wards. You will assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care. About you As a Registered Nurse in our new SAPU unit, you are passionate about delivering safe, high‑quality, and patient‑centred care. Key Requirements Current New Zealand Registered Nurse (RN) registration. Experience in surgical, acute, or medical nursing, with strong clinical assessment skills. Ability to prioritise and manage care for multiple patients safely and efficiently. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to problem‑solving.
