Job Description

Lead the transformation of NZ Post's facilities management operating model. Establish a high‑performing in‑house capability. 12‑month fixed‑term contract based in Wellington CBD. Overview Transition Manager – Facilities & Asset Management is responsible for leading a critical transformation programme, shifting from a fully outsourced model to a hybrid approach that combines an in‑house facilities team with outsourced specialist trade services. The role reports to the National Facilities & Asset Manager. Responsibilities Develop and deliver the transition strategy, roadmap and governance framework. Manage supplier transition, exit activities and knowledge transfer. Lead stakeholder engagement, communications and change management initiatives. Design and implement the future operating model. Support recruitment and establishment of internal facilities management capability. Onboard new service providers and trade partners. Ensure operational readiness across systems, processes, reporting and KPIs. Manage programme risks, budgets, timelines and performance outcomes. Drive supplier performance, compliance and continuous improvement. Champion health, safety and a high‑performance culture. Qualifications 5+ years of leadership experience in facilities, property, or asset management. Proven experience leading business transformation, operating‑model change or service transition programmes. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with ability to build trust across all levels. Strong change‑management capability, including stakeholder engagement, communications planning, organisational readiness and adoption strategies. Demonstrated success leading teams and stakeholders through change and uncertainty. Experience managing contracts, suppliers and outsourced service arrangements. Strong project and programme management expertise. Knowledge of asset‑management principles and facilities‑management systems.
