DevOps Product Manager IT - Auckland, Auckland DevOps Engineer– Global Wave Group Location: Albany, Auckland (Office based) Working hours: 2-10:30P.M. from Monday to Friday Reports to: Head of IT Role Purpose The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, as well as some devops systems. This role not only masters infrastructure and automation but also posses a strong understanding of application development. You should be comfortable navigating codebases and collaborating closely with backend (Java/Python) and frontend (React) projects to ensure seamless deployment and application performance. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure on AWS Cloud, ensuring high availability, security, and cost‑efficiency. Containerization & Orchestration: Design and maintain Kubernetes (K8s) clusters, manage container images, and optimize orchestration strategies. CI/CD Pipeline Optimization: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Tekton, ArgoCD or GitHub Actions to automate building, testing, and deployment processes. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write and maintain IaC scripts using Terraform or Ansible to ensure reproducible and version‑controlled infrastructure. Application Support: Develop and troubleshoot issues in Java, Python, and React JS DevOps applications. Monitoring & Logging: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, VM, ELK Stack) to ensure system stability and rapid incident response. Linux Administration: Manage and optimize Linux/Windows server environments, including kernel tuning, network configuration, and performance monitoring. Essential Requirements Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering experience. Cloud Platform: Deep proficiency with AWS services (EC2, EBS, CloudWatch, CloudFront, S3, RDS, Lambda, WAF, SSM, VPC, IAM, etc.). Containerization: Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes (including Helm, operators, or service mesh). OS Knowledge: Solid understanding of Linux/Windows system administration and networking. Scripting & Coding: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Experience with Java is a plus. Version Control: Expertise with Git and branching strategies. Soft Skills: Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work in an agile environment, and strong Chinese written and verbal communication skills. Desirable Full‑Stack Familiarity: Practical experience or working knowledge of Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Flask) for backend services. Frontend Knowledge: Understanding of React architecture, TypeScript, CSS (Tailwind), build processes (Vite), and deployment considerations. Database Management: Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, StarRocks). Security: Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning and security compliance.
