Room Attendants Location: Sofitel Queenstown – Hotel & Spa, Queenstown, New Zealand. Job type: Permanent. Schedule: Part‑time (30 hours per week, day, evening and weekend shifts). Deliver heartfelt care and sanctuary for guests in the provision of beautifully cleaned and serviced rooms. Job Description Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated. Ensure guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type. Report any lost property following correct procedures. Carry out programmed/regular cleaning duties as allocated. Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy. Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual. Ensure all department equipment is maintained to a high standard. Assist with regular equipment stocktaking. Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times by adherence to security procedures. Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor. Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers instructions. Assist guests with any requests for information or service they require. Refer any requests out of your authority to your supervisor. Assist in providing our guests with turn-down service. Clean balconies, balcony furniture and railings. Clean carpets. Responsible for de‑scaling shower heads, bleach grouting in bathroom and toilets and general upkeep of bedrooms. Help colleagues when necessary (extra beds, bed boards, make beds). Engage warmly with guests, using emotional intelligence and initiative to support five star luxury service. Ability to work alone when required cleaning rooms. Qualifications Minimum 6 months 5-star / Luxury experience. Passion for interacting with people, with the ability to communicate fluently in English. Ability to work well under pressure in our fast-paced environment. A great team player with a good level of fitness and able to work in a physically demanding role. Real eye for detail and willingness to uphold high standards in cleanliness. Self‑motivated and enjoys working autonomously. Can coordinate various tasks simultaneously. Must hold a clean police record.
