Workplace Administrator - Oranga Tamariki | 30-40h per week | Based in Tauranga About us The Adoption Service is a service unit of Oranga Tamariki—the Ministry for Children. The Adoption team is focused on putting the people who seek a service from us at the centre of everything we do. You will become part of a small social work team committed to ensuring a high-quality service to those involved with the Adoption Service. About the role In this role you will assist a team of social workers and a supervisor, most of whom are based off-site. You will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks including learning our adoption-specific record management system, TRIM, and developing new systems to improve service delivery. You will also conduct searches for people using public records and interact with service users, stakeholders, and team members. Responsibilities Assist social workers and supervisors with day-to-day administration Use TRIM and other record-keeping systems Develop and implement new administrative systems Conduct public-record searches Engage respectfully with service users and stakeholders Manage time and plan tasks efficiently Qualifications Proven experience in office administration Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills High computer literacy and strong administrative skills Personal Attributes Solution focused and attentive to detail Ability to work independently and within a team Flexibility, initiative, and high energy Polite, respectful, non-judgemental, and patient listening skills Commitment to Oranga Tamariki values Benefits and Compensation Salary range (pro rata): $57,096–$62,773.
