Network Solutions Interns – Healthy Waters & Flood Resilience A paid 12‑week summer internship at the Living Wage rate of $29.90 per hour. The internship runs from 23 November to 19 February and offers hands‑on experience, support and development in Auckland Council’s healthy waters and flood resilience (HWFR) department. Auckland Council’s HWFR department manages, plans and develops stormwater systems in partnership with iwi and communities to create healthy environments and resilient stormwater systems. The Network Solutions team supports projects that improve Auckland’s stormwater infrastructure and natural water systems. Key Responsibilities Research and review property files and access agreements. Oversee and refine statutory processes, including liaising with Water Service Commissioners. Support customer communications and administrative tasks. Attend meetings with project managers and engineers. Learn how council plans and delivers large public stormwater works. Gain exposure to real‑world environmental, legal and property issues. Qualifications & Experience Second‑to‑last year of a bachelor’s degree, or currently pursuing a master’s degree, in Law, Property, Construction Management or a related field. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Developing understanding of property law, planning frameworks and public sector processes. Experience with legal research tools, property databases or Microsoft Office is an advantage. Preferred but not essential: a valid New Zealand driver’s licence.
