Referral Administrator – North Shore Hospital Casual positions available (non-guaranteed hours, working as and when required based on your availability). About the Role We are seeking highly motivated administrators to join our friendly and supportive Patient Service Centre team at North Shore Hospital. The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and correct processing of all referrals received for the medical/surgical specialties, ensuring these are waitlisted and managed in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā guidelines. This includes internal and external referrals for both North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals. About Us Health New Zealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area. About You As the first point of contact for our patients, it is essential that you have a good command of the English language (both written and verbal) and promote a professional image whilst providing excellent customer service. Your empathetic nature coupled with your desire to help those around you will quickly see you succeed in this role. Required Skills Outstanding administration and telephonic skills Accurate computer and data entry skills Interactive Team Player Self‑motivated Strong customer focus Process and procedure orientated Flexibility and willingness to work with changing priorities are essential Great interpersonal skills with a strong command of the English language Knowledge of hospital information systems would be an advantageous (however training will be provided to the successful candidate) Additional Information This role is covered by the PSA National Health Administration Workers Collective Agreement and is mapped to role profile 3C.
