The geotechnical engineers objective is to support safe, productive and cost-effective extraction of ore by delivering consistent geotechnical support and expertise, contributing to mine planning and design, and collaborating across departments to optimise mining activities while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards. The Snowy River Mine hosts structurally controlled, high-grade narrow-vein deposits, offering an exciting opportunity for driven geologists to get involved and play a key role in the journey toward first gold production and operational ramp-up. As our Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for: Complete geotechnical mapping of advancing capital and ore development to assess ground conditions, identify defect structures and ensure assignment of appropriate ground support regime. Capture appropriate data to integrate into geotechnical models and assessment of rock characterisation and ground conditions. Complete routine underground inspections for the purpose of QC of installed ground support, condition and effectiveness of existing ground support, monitoring areas of damage and deformation, regular data collection from installed geotechnical instrumentation Undertake geotechnical drive assessment inspections, maintain clear records of inspection findings and resulting recommendations Identify geotechnical hazards, develop rehabilitation plans, and assign triage priorities in accordance with the Geotechnical procedures. Contribute to geotechnical input to risk assessments and investigations Maintain routine QAQC program and feedback for ground support including Pull testing of installed bolts, shotcrete cylinders and sprayed shotcrete panels.
