Workplace Administrator Adoptions Services - Tauranga 30 - 40hour per week position based in Tauranga The National Adoption Service is looking for a hardworking, positive thinking person who has high computer literacy, strong administration skills and can develop excellent systems. You will be a person who is solution focused, has attention to detail, is able to work both on your own as well as working well within a team. Flexibility and showing initiative will come naturally to you. About us: The Adoption Service is a service unit of Oranga Tamariki—the Ministry for Children. The Adoption team is focused on putting the people who seek a service from us at the centre of everything we do. You will become part of a small social work team who are committed to ensuring that people involved with the Adoption Service have a high-quality service delivered to them. About the role: In this role, you will assist a team of social workers and a supervisor, most of whom are based off-site. The ability to occasionally travel for a day is a requirement of this job, so a full drivers’ license is essential. You will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks including learning our adoption specific record management system, TRIM. You will also be required to develop new systems to ensure an efficient and effective delivery of service to your team and to those who utilise our services and support. Part of your work will be conducting searches for people using public records. As you will have some contact with service users as well as our stakeholders, you will need to be a person who listens well to gather information, is polite, respectful, non-judgemental and patient. Being part of this team also requires you to be a person who has high energy and lives our Oranga Tamariki values in all you do. Preference is given to those who have: Proven experience in office administration and advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office programmes, especially Excel Effective organisation, planning and time management skills Right to work in New Zealand What’s on offer: A salary range (pro rata) between $57,096– $62,773 Occasional flexibility in hours of work We offer significant training and professional development so that you can thrive and grow.
