Overview Stewarding Team Leader – Cordis, Auckland (Part‑time, on‑site). Join a leading luxury hotel within the Langham Hospitality Group. The role supports the Kitchen Manager in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and efficiency across kitchen and back‑of‑house areas. Responsibilities Lead the Stewarding team across all shifts, including graveyard shifts. Allocate daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and back‑of‑house areas. Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations, HACCP and Health & Safety requirements. Oversee correct cleaning of kitchen equipment, crockery, glassware, cutlery and cookware. Monitor the use, storage and maintenance of stewarding equipment. Store and handle hazardous chemicals and materials safely. Coordinate removal of rubbish, wet waste and accumulated waste. Complete daily cleaning schedules and checklists. Train and support colleagues to perform duties safely and effectively. Conduct regular team briefings and keep colleagues informed. Support the hotel’s sustainability and waste‑management initiatives. Qualifications Previous experience in stewarding, kitchen operations or a similar environment. Leadership, supervisory or team‑leading experience. Strong knowledge of hygiene, food safety and HACCP requirements. Hands‑on approach and willingness to support the team. Strong organisation and time‑management skills. Ability to remain calm and make decisions in a busy environment. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency. Ability to motivate, coach and develop others.
