What you’ll do Help shape the future of health ethics and emerging technologies in Aotearoa New Zealand Lead high‑profile ethics policy work supporting the National Ethics Advisory Committee (NEAC) and the Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ACART) Develop evidence‑based policy advice, guidelines and regulatory frameworks on complex and emerging health ethics issues Drive end‑to‑end policy projects, from problem definition and options analysis through to implementation, evaluation and risk management Build and maintain trusted relationships with advisory committees, researchers, academics, health sector organisations and other key stakeholders Provide leadership and mentoring, contributing to policy capability across the Ministry while championing equity and Te Tiriti obligations What you’ll bring Expertise in health ethics and public policy, with a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience Strong understanding of New Zealand’s health and disability research ethics framework and ethical review processes Demonstrated policy experience, including navigating government processes and delivering high‑quality policy advice Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, practical recommendations Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with experience influencing and collaborating across diverse groups Benefits Discover a world of opportunities for personal and professional growth, supportive work‑life balance, wellness resources, and a culture that values authentic voices and inclusion.
