This is a hands‑on role where you'll be responsible for transporting plant and equipment, operating machinery, and supporting a busy pavement maintenance crew across the region. You'll safely operate, navigate, and care for a range of equipment, including loaders, excavators, rollers, and other heavy machinery while assisting with road maintenance and construction activities. You'll play an active role within the pavement crew, contributing to the successful delivery of maintenance and renewal projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork. This is a fantastic full‑time, permanent opportunity for a self‑starter who embraces training and development. You will have experience in roading, pavement maintenance, earthmoving, or civil construction. We would also really value: Full Class 5 Driver Licence Current W, T & R Endorsements (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers) Experience transporting plant and equipment on a transporter Proven experience operating heavy machinery within a civil or road maintenance environment Experience working as an active member of a pavement crew A great work ethic with a strong focus on Safety and Quality Strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and problem solve Great communication skills with the confidence to speak up A high level of physical fitness with the ability to carry out manual tasks A positive "can do" attitude Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
