Job Description

Role Overview Auckland Zoo is a much-loved visitor destination where people come to connect with wildlife, whānau, conservation and memorable experiences. Behind the scenes, our Brand Experience & Business Development team helps bring that experience to life through our brand, communications, partnerships, commercial activity and the Zoo Shop. With the continued growth of the Zoo Shop, we’re looking for a motivated, organised and detail-focused Assistant Retail Sales Advisor to help keep our retail operation running smoothly. This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week, based on‑site at the Auckland Zoo Retail Shop. Working closely with the Retail Sales Advisor and Storeroom Coordinator, this role will support everything from stock ordering, pricing, cataloguing and inventory accuracy through to online orders, shop presentation and helping create a welcoming retail experience for our visitors. Responsibilities Support stock and inventory management, including product data entry, stock ordering, goods receipting, invoicing, regular stock counts and two full stocktakes each year. Help keep the Zoo Shop looking welcoming, well‑stocked and visitor‑ready through restocking, visual merchandising and day‑to‑day shop support and troubleshooting. Fulfil online orders, monitor the Zoo Shop email inbox and assist with maintaining the Zoo Shop’s e‑commerce website. Support supplier relationships, Lightspeed and Shopify transactions, month‑end financial reporting, retail sales analytics and security procedures to ensure the shop runs safely, accurately and professionally. Qualifications Previous retail experience, which is essential for this role. A current New Zealand driver’s licence is preferred. Familiarity with Lightspeed and Shopify would be beneficial, although not essential. Benefits We offer a competitive remuneration package. Closing Date Applications close Friday 24 July 2026. #J-18808-Ljbffr
