Demi Chef de Partie

The Role | Te mahi We have a great opportunity for a reliable individual looking to gain further experience in the hospitality industry! We are seeking a Demi Chef de Partie to join our friendly kitchen team at Sudima Christchurch Airport Hotel. This is a full‑time role, 30 hours per week guaranteed minimum with the pay rate of $28 per hour. Can start as soon as possible and can work in 7-day rotating roster. Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing and room service on a day to day basis Organise the shift, placing orders, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift Support the Head Chef and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Preparing and cooking food Understand and execute the food control plan Qualifications NZQF Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) Experience in a busy kitchen environment Planning and organising skills and an ability to work individually and in a team Ability to multi‑task, show flexibility and meet deadlines, work under pressure Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, late nights, and public holidays Hands‑on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers) Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks, excellent time management abilities Familiarity with sanitation regulations Benefits He kura te tangata – We are all valued.
