Role Title: Department & Contract Manager - CODC Maintenance Location: Alexandra Central Otago Contract Type: Permanent Full Time We’re looking for a Department & Contract Manager – CODC Maintenance to join our Maintenance team in Central Otago. You will lead the delivery of contracted maintenance activities, oversee operational teams and subcontractors, and drive contract performance, safety, quality and commercial outcomes, helping us deliver reliable infrastructure services and long‑term value for our client and communities. About the role This is a senior leadership role responsible for the successful delivery of the Central Otago District Council maintenance contract. Working across office, depot and field environments, you’ll lead teams, subcontractors and contract operations to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Your leadership will directly influence contract performance, team success, client satisfaction and the long‑term profitability and sustainability of the business. Key Responsibilities Lead the CODC Maintenance team in the successful delivery of contracted maintenance activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to agreed standards. Manage contract operations, administration and performance to meet client expectations, contractual requirements and business objectives. Coordinate people, subcontractors, plant and materials through effective planning to maintain productivity and minimise downtime. Drive health, safety, environmental and quality outcomes, fostering a culture where safety is the first priority. Monitor budgets, costs and commercial risks to support profitable contract delivery and identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and support Operation Manager, Foremen, Supervisors and crew members by setting clear expectations, providing leadership and promoting high performance. Qualifications Relevant engineering qualification (BE, NZCE) or significant industry experience. Proven experience leading teams and subcontractors in construction, maintenance or infrastructure environments. Strong contract management and operational delivery experience. Sound commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and costs. Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental best practice. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills. Current New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence. Benefits Medical insurance and life insurance after the eligibility period.
