Job Description As Production Manager (2IC) at Aoraki Organic, you’ll lead the team to foster a positive and collaborative culture, support the Farm Manager, and pursue professional development opportunities. Key Responsibilities Take initiative, communicate clearly, and help foster a positive and collaborative team culture. Be hands‑on in milking, animal health, pasture and feed management, calving, calf rearing, and effluent management. Maintain farm presentation, health and safety, and keep good records. Coach the team, participate in meetings, and step up when the Farm Manager is away. Qualifications Minimum 2 years dairy farming experience, including milking, animal health, pasture management, and calving. Calm, practical approach and confidence to guide others. Strong focus on animal care, health and safety, and quality work. Good communication skills and a team‑first attitude. Confidence using computers, technology, farm records and systems, or willingness to learn. Current full New Zealand driver’s licence. About the Farm Pāmu’s Aoraki Dairy Unit is a certified organic farm located 10 minutes from Foxton and 40minutes from PalmerstonNorth. The 196‑hectare property hosts 485 cows milking through a 50‑bail rotary cowshed, a Milk Hub, ACR’s, and an auto plant wash, with Halter technology integrated into the system.
