New Plymouth Girls' High School Taranaki Careers and Pathways Advisor Full time, Permanent Secondary (Years 7–15) / Wharekura, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts New Plymouth Girls’ High School is seeking an enthusiastic and relationship-focused careers and pathways advisor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside students, staff, whānau and community partners to inspire and support students with their future education and careers. Key responsibilities include: Providing individual and group careers guidance and planning for students across Years 9-13. Promoting work experience and volunteering opportunities. Assisting the head of department with careers event organisation of guest speakers. Delivering workshops on CV writing, applications, interview preparation and job search skills. Maintaining accurate records and career databases. Encouraging participation in career pathways programmes, competitions and internships. Working collaboratively with students, whānau, teaching staff and support staff. The successful applicant will: Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Be highly organised and work collaboratively. Have knowledge of New Zealand education, training and employment pathways. Hold a current driver’s licence, as some travel will be required. Experience in careers education and vocational guidance in a secondary school environment would be an advantage. Additionally, applicants with a teaching background and a passion for careers education are encouraged to apply.
