Enterprise Test Lead

As we continue to invest in our technology platforms and transformation programmes, we’re looking for an experienced Enterprise Test Lead to provide strategic leadership across testing and quality assurance for some of the bank’s largest and most complex initiatives.

As our Enterprise Test Lead, you’ll be accountable for end-to-end testing outcomes across major programmes of work. You’ll partner with engineering, delivery, architecture, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded from the outset and that testing activities are delivered effectively, efficiently and in line with regulatory and audit requirements.

This is a highly influential role where you’ll shape testing strategies, drive modern engineering practices and champion quality across multiple squads and workstreams.

You’ll be a seasoned testing professional who combines technical depth with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Extensive experience in software testing, including significant experience leading testing across large-scale enterprise programmes.
\n
• Strong hands-on experience in test automation and performance testing.
\n
• A solid understanding of modern engineering practices, including DevOps, microservices and event-driven architectures.
\n
• Experience developing and governing enterprise-level test strategies, test plans and quality frameworks.
\n
• Proven ability to lead testing teams across multiple squads and workstreams while influencing stakeholders at all levels.
\n
• Strong risk management capabilities, including identifying and managing testing risks, issues and dependencies.
\n
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bring people on the journey, challenge constructively and drive outcomes.
\n
• Experience mentoring and developing testers while helping grow testing capability across an organisation.
\n
• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification will be advantageous.
\n

In this role, you’ll:

• Provide strategic oversight and leadership for testing across large and complex programmes.
\n
• Develop and govern enterprise test strategies, plans and approaches.
\n
• Champion shift-left testing practices, automation and non-functional testing.
\n
• Drive DevOps-aligned testing processes and continuous quality improvements.
\n
• Monitor quality risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies while ensuring stakeholder visibility through meaningful reporting.
\n
• Guide and mentor test engineers and squad testers to uplift capability and delivery outcomes.
\n
• Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure testing environments, tooling and resources are in place.
\n
• Ensure testing artefacts and audit requirements are maintained to the highest standards.
\n
