As the Observability & Network Manager, you will lead the strategy, performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of ACC's enterprise networking and observability capabilities.

\n

This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the availability, resilience, security, and performance of critical technology services that support millions of interactions with New Zealanders.

\n

You'll lead a high-performing technical team, influence technology direction, drive AI-enabled observability and automation, and partner across engineering and leadership teams to deliver modern, scalable, and reliable services that help keep Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

\n

We are seeking an experienced leader who brings proven capability operating and evolving enterprise-scale network and observability functions within complex environments where reliability, resilience, and service performance are critical.

\n

The appointing salary for this role is $117,787 - $152,430 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

You will bring:

    \n
  • Experience leading and managing enterprise-scale networking environments and large-scale network services across complex hybrid and multi-cloud organisations.
  • \n
  • Proven expertise operating and enhancing enterprise observability platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, spanning metrics, logs, traces, alerting, service reliability, and operational excellence.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated success leading technical teams and creating a high-performance, continuous improvement culture.
  • \n
  • Experience implementing automation, AI-driven observability, anomaly detection, event correlation, or intelligent operational capabilities.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of service reliability principles including availability, latency, scalability, SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
  • \n
  • Experience leading major incident response, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, vendor management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • \n
  • The confidence to provide strategic technical leadership and make sound decisions in complex environments.
  • \n
  • A collaborative leadership style with a focus on coaching, empowerment, and developing people.
  • \n
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
