Group IT Data Engineer - Data & AI

We’re looking for a Databricks Engineer to join our Group IT Data & AI team in Christchurch or Auckland. • Build and improve semantic layers and data models that support reporting and analytics outcomes.
\n
• Develop ELT pipelines using cloud data platforms, ideally Azure Databricks, with Python or SQL.
\n
• Work across a variety of projects and support production fixes when needed.
\n
• Contribute across the full development lifecycle, following team standards and best practice.
\n
• Put safety, quality, and continuous improvement front and centre in the way you work.

• At least 2 years’ relevant post‑tertiary industry experience in data engineering or a similar role.
\n
• Experience working with cloud data platforms, ideally Azure Databricks.
\n
• Strong Python or SQL capability, with experience developing ELT pipelines.
\n
• Experience with CI/CD, GIT, Azure DevOps, and documentation tools such as Confluence.
\n
• A collaborative, proactive approach, with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine willingness to learn and grow.
