Pearson Carter are currently working with a global engineering and assurance organisation supporting the energy transition through advanced power system consulting. Their Power Grid Assets team works with utilities, infrastructure operators, developers, and investors across the full lifecycle of critical energy assets, helping clients make informed technical and commercial decisions.
\nDue to growth within their HVDC advisory team, they are hiring a Senior Engineer to deliver technical consulting across HVDC transmission systems, FACTS technologies, high‑voltage networks, and complex power infrastructure projects across New Zealand, Australia, and the wider Asia‑Pacific region.
\nThis role provides the opportunity to work on major energy transition projects, supporting concept development, feasibility studies, design reviews, commissioning, and operational advisory across advanced power systems.

Responsibilities\n- \n
- Provide technical consulting across HVDC, FACTS, and power transmission projects \n
- Support concept design, feasibility assessments, and technical due diligence \n
- Develop technical requirements, specifications, and engineering documentation \n
- Review designs and support testing, commissioning, and operational activities \n
- Provide technical advisory support to clients and stakeholders \n
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing \n

- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent \n
- Experience with HVDC, FACTS, high‑voltage systems, or similar technologies \n
- Background in power electronics, protection, control, or transmission systems \n
- Experience delivering engineering projects within consulting environments \n
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills \n
- Ability to support client engagements and business development activities \n
