Clinical Documentation Systems Administrator

About the Role We are seeking a Clinical Documentation Systems Administrator to join our Support Services team at Palmerston North Hospital. This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day administration, configuration, support, and optimisation of our clinical documentation and transcription platform. Acting as the primary technical liaison between Health NewZealand and the system vendor, you will ensure the platform operates reliably, securely, and in alignment with clinical workflow requirements. Responsibilities Provide technical support to clinicians, transcriptionists, and administrative staff. Manage system configuration and updates. Monitor integrations with clinical systems and coordinate issue resolution with vendors. Develop user training materials and deliver training sessions. Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimise workflow efficiency. Qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in systems administration, application support, or a similar ICT role. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical information for clinical users. The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a busy environment. A commitment to patient privacy, information security, and continuous improvement. Desirable experience includes working with clinical information systems, health IT environments, HL7 integrations, clinical documentation platforms, or the New Zealand public health sector.
