Regional Scheduling Advisor

Regional Scheduling Advisor South Auckland based, fixed term until 30 June 2027, full time. The Opportunity As a Regional Scheduling Advisor, your work will directly contribute to ensuring people experience a more timely, effective and accessible justice system. You will help ensure court time and judicial resources are used in ways that support better outcomes for court participants and strengthen trust and confidence in the administration of justice. This is a rare, long secondment or fixed term opportunity. It is an opportunity to influence how the District Court responds to demand, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to broader initiatives that strengthen operational performance across the justice system. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and maintenance of court schedules that respond proactively to changing demand and emerging priorities. Support decisions regarding the allocation of judicial time and court resources, balancing operational requirements with judicial priorities. Analyse scheduling, utilisation and operational performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement. Provide trusted advice to Court Managers, Judicial Resource Managers, Executive Judges and other key stakeholders on scheduling and operational matters. Build strong partnerships across courts, leadership teams and the judiciary to support consistent approaches and shared objectives. Contribute to regional and national initiatives aimed at improving scheduling practices, resource utilisation and service delivery outcomes. Apply sound judgement and problem‑solving skills to resolve complex scheduling issues and competing priorities. Support continuous improvement by translating insights and feedback into practical changes that enhance operational performance. Qualifications and Skills Experience using data and operational insights to inform decision‑making and identify opportunities for improvement. Ability to translate complex or competing requirements into practical, fit‑for‑purpose solutions. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence, build alignment and navigate differing perspectives. Confidence working autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated sound judgement and ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment, especially in a multi‑jurisdictional, justice sector and courts context. Positive approach to change and working in a national way, with excellent soft skills and a strong service‑oriented ethic. Full driver’s licence. Ability to travel to courts across the region (occasionally overnight).
