We're now looking for a talented Senior Analytics Engineer to join our newly established Data Build Squad, helping shape the future of data engineering at ASB. This is a unique opportunity to influence the foundations of a new data engineering capability from the ground up. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data products and modern data pipelines that support enterprise analytics, controls, and regulatory outcomes. Working within a cloud-native environment, you'll help establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices that enable trusted, high-quality data across ASB. You’ll work closely with platform specialists, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions that are reliable, governed, and built for scale. In this role, you will: Design and develop canonical data models on Snowflake, creating trusted and reusable representations of core business entities. Build scalable data products that transform raw source data into curated, business-ready datasets. Develop and maintain modern data pipelines using StreamSets, dbt and Prefect. Embed engineering best practices including testing, version control, CI/CD, and automation. Ensure data quality, reliability, observability, and operational excellence across data products. Partner with analytics, platform, and control teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. Drive consistency through reusable frameworks, patterns, and documentation. Participate in an after-hours production support roster as required. You’ll be an experienced data engineering professional who enjoys solving complex problems and building scalable, production-grade solutions. You’ll bring a strong engineering mindset, a passion for quality, and a collaborative approach to delivering business value through data. You’ll ideally have experience with: Snowflake as your primary cloud data platform. dbt for data transformation and modelling. Prefect or similar orchestration technologies. StreamSets or comparable data ingestion tools. Strong SQL and Python development skills. Designing and implementing modern data products and canonical data models. CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development practices, and automated deployments. Data quality, monitoring, observability, and operational support. Working within secure, regulated enterprise environments. It would be a bonus if you also have: Knowledge of BIAN service domains and domain-driven data design. Experience within Financial Crime, banking, or other highly regulated industries. Exposure to data controls, reconciliation processes, or data quality frameworks. Experience helping establish new engineering capabilities, standards, or platforms.
