Entry Criteria for a Specialty Doctor Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC). Completed four years’ full‑time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less‑than‑full‑time or flexible basis) since first registration, including adequate experience in the relevant specialty. Equivalent training, experience or competencies in the UK or overseas. We are seeking a full‑time Specialty Doctor for Oral Medicine at the Edinburgh Dental Institute (Lauriston Building). The post offers an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a tiered, consultant‑led Oral Medicine service. The appointee will work 10 PAs Monday to Friday, with a job plan agreed with the Clinical Director and Professional Lead for Oral Medicine. The post holder will report to Ms Lorraine Canning, Clinical Services Manager, and to Oral Medicine Professional Lead Dr William Harrison, working with colleagues within Oral Medicine and the wider Dental Institute. Appropriate experience and full GDC registration, plus at least four years of full‑time postgraduate training with demonstrable experience supporting patients in Oral Medicine, are required.
