Enterprise Procurement Director Lead the future of procurement across NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi) – shape enterprise‑wide procurement strategy, governance and performance. Senior leadership opportunity based in Wellington or Auckland. Responsibilities As Enterprise Procurement Director you will: Lead NZTA’s enterprise procurement function, providing organisation‑wide leadership across procurement strategy, governance, capability, policy, systems and delivery. Ensure procurement remains a trusted strategic partner to the business while balancing compliance, innovation, sustainability, value for money and commercial agility. Maintain the strength of the procurement “spine” across NZTA, fostering consistency, collaboration and best practice across enterprise and infrastructure‑focused procurement functions. Lead non‑infrastructure procurement, strengthen supplier relationship management and contract performance, and champion procurement systems, reporting and continuous improvement. Qualifications Significant senior leadership experience in procurement, commercial or supply chain management. Proven success leading complex procurement functions in large public or private sector environments. Strong strategic thinking, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Experience developing procurement capability, governance frameworks, systems, reporting and organisational procurement maturity. A track record of delivering sustainable commercial outcomes, long‑term value and trusted procurement advice. Exceptional people leadership skills, with a focus on coaching, development and engagement. Strong understanding of public sector procurement principles, government procurement and assurance requirements. Willingness to understand and engage with Te Ao Māori, support NZTA’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and contribute to an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives strengthen decision‑making.
