Registered Nurse – Surgical Ward (Whanganui Hospital) Registered Nurse roles x2 – Fixed term 0.8 FTE and 0.9 FTE (maternity leave cover) rostered and rotating. About the Role Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Whanganui seeks enthusiastic and proactive Registered Nurses to join our supportive team on the surgical ward. The Registered Nurse is a vital, valued member of the department and plays a pivotal role in the efficient and effective running of the surgical ward. We place a high priority on patient‑focused care that includes family/whānau. About the Team / Service The surgical ward is a busy, fast‑paced environment. We seek motivated candidates with strong communication skills, a friendly disposition, a desire to continue learning, honesty, reliability, and who enjoy working as part of a team. The combined surgical ward offers a wide range of specialties including general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, and gynaecology for adult patients – challenging and rewarding. We collaborate and work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide quality coordinated patient care and are committed to delivering safe nursing care that results in a positive patient and whānau experience.
