You’ll gain the experience, skills, and relationships to help you succeed as a future Graduate Engineer. About the Summer Intern Programme Based at our Waikoukou Head Office from mid-November to mid-February, you’ll join a cohort of around 30 summer interns paid the living wage. Contribute at the heart of the electricity sector while completing the industry work experience hours required to graduate! From day one, you’ll take on meaningful work and be guided by a collaborative, professional, and knowledgeable team. You’ll gain first hand insight into New Zealand’s only Grid Owner and System Operator, with a structured programme that helps you settle in quickly and build valuable relationships across the business. If you are joining us in Wellington from another region, previous interns have successfully arranged accommodation or stayed at Victoria University’s student halls, a short walk from our office. To be considered, your CV and cover letter will show: you’re working towards a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering at a New Zealand university a cumulative GPA of 5.5 or higher (please have your transcript ready to upload) well‐developed written and verbal communication skills you have a genuine interest in Transpower, and how electricity transmission is fundamental to New Zealand’s transition to a low‑carbon future Power systems study isn’t essential, but if applicable, it is worth mentioning in your cover letter.
