Analyst L2 – Kaitātari – Tax Counsel Office 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity Location: Wellington/Christchurch preferred, but all IR locations considered. The opportunity – Ara Whiwhi Mahi We are seeking an Analyst to support the management and delivery of the Public Advice & Guidance and Escalations & Advising work programmes through data‑driven insights, project management and programme coordination. This role provides analysis, oversight and advice to support effective delivery of the Public Advice & Guidance and Escalations & Advising work programmes. You will maintain visibility across projects, ensuring priorities, risks and progress are clearly understood and proactively managed. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll translate data into meaningful insights that inform decision‑making and improve outcomes. You will also contribute to and lead continuous improvement initiatives, helping optimise delivery and enhance system and customer results. Responsibilities Support the management and delivery of the Public Advice & Guidance and Escalations & Advising work programmes. Provide analysis, oversight and advice to ensure effective programme delivery. Maintain visibility across projects, clearly understanding and proactively managing priorities, risks and progress. Translate data into meaningful insights that inform decision‑making and improve outcomes. Contribute to and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise delivery and enhance system and customer results. Qualifications Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights. Ability to understand complex work programmes and identify interdependencies, risks and opportunities. Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills. Excellent communication skills, able to convey insights clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders. A proactive approach to identifying and driving improvements. Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. A system‑wide perspective and customer‑centric mindset. Demonstrated experience leading programme and project delivery, with the ability to teach, embed and uplift best practice project management disciplines across the Tax Counsel Office. Ability to influence outcomes.
