Job Description Senior Official Information Act Adviser Role type : Permanent, Full-time Location : Wellington City Salary band & range : General Salary Range D: $102,953 to $137,778 depending on skills and experience. About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga Join MPI's Official Information Act team and play a key role in delivering high-quality responses to the Official Information Act and Privacy Act requests across the organisation. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you'll analyse complex issues, gather information from a wide range of business groups, and prepare clear, well-reasoned responses within statutory timeframes. You'll also contribute to building team capability by providing quality assurance, guidance, and coaching to colleagues, while helping maintain consistency and excellence across our work. You will: Draft official correspondence and OIA responses Analyse issues and apply legislative requirements Coordinate responses across MPI portfolios Provide quality assurance and peer review Coach and support OIA Advisers About You - Mōu You will be a proactive and highly organised adviser who enjoys working across a wide range of issues and building relationships with diverse stakeholders. You will bring strong judgement, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, audience-appropriate communications. Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, you'll be able to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and work collaboratively with senior leaders and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will bring: Strong writing and analytical skills Experience applying the Official Information Act Ability to manage competing priorities Strong stakeholder relationship management Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues This role may suit someone already working in government, ministerial services, parliamentary services, information management, or an advisory role who is looking to broaden their experience and develop further as a senior adviser in a complex operating environment. About the Team We are a Wellington-based team of 14 supporting the Ministry and Ministers' offices with Official Information Act requests.
