Title: Trainee Track Worker - Taumarunui 3 Exciting Permanent, Full-Time Opportunities in Taumarunui (80 hours per fortnight/Starting rate $30.42 per hour) 3 x Shift Work roles: Sunday to Wednesday & Monday to Thursday We're looking for three motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our Track Maintenance team in Taumarunui as Trainee Track Workers. This is an excellent opportunity to start a long-term career in the rail industry. Working alongside experienced team members, you'll help maintain and repair New Zealand's rail network while gaining valuable skills, qualifications, and experience. Responsibilities Maintaining and repairing rail track and infrastructure Operating tools, equipment, and light machinery Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Contributing to infrastructure maintenance and improvement projects Supporting a strong culture of health, safety, and teamwork Qualifications A full, clean New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual work A strong commitment to workplace health and safety Good written and verbal communication skills The ability to pass medical, drug and alcohol, and Ministry of Justice checks Advantage(s) Class 2 Licence Experience in construction, infrastructure, labouring, or mechanical environments Experience using hand tools, power tools, or machinery Benefits Starting pay of $30.42 per hour, with increases as you complete training Full on-the-job training and nationally recognised qualifications Four weeks' annual leave Discounted travel on Scenic trains and Interislander Discounted Southern Cross health insurance Access to NZ Rail Staff Welfare benefits All PPE and training provided At KiwiRail, we’re committed to helping our people build rewarding careers.
