Rainbow Student Advisor

Student Advisor – Rainbow Student Support Service This role is a full-time fixed-term position for 12 months (37.5 hours per week) within our Rainbow Student Support Service. You will support ākonga Rainbow by providing wellbeing support, case management, group facilitation, and community building initiatives. The job requires a compassionate, culturally aware professional who can work with complex student needs and collaborate with other support services. About You An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., social work, youth development, health sciences). Experience and confidence working with Rainbow communities. Experience in tertiary education, community support or wellbeing support. A passion for supporting student success. A commitment to delivering a high‑quality professional service with a customer‑care culture. Understanding of advisory support delivered via a case‑management model. Extensive experience with technology and relationship‑management software. Responsibilities Provide individual and group support to ākonga Rainbow, facilitate case management processes, collaborate with other services to provide holistic support, and contribute to the continuous improvement of student wellbeing services. Supervise or support the development of student wellbeing initiatives and maintain accessible records within the existing systems. Professional Attributes Demonstrated cultural humility, awareness, and respect when engaging with indigenous and culturally diverse communities. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills. Ability to respond flexibly to changing requirements and work collaboratively. Experience supporting indigenous, equity, or inclusion‑focused initiatives is highly desirable. Salary range: $76,000 – $102,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications).
