Job Description

Play a key role in shaping the future of Auckland plans and developments. Responsibilities Apply specialist investigation and enforcement expertise. Lead business improvement projects. Investigate serious breaches of building, pollution, resource management and bylaw regulations, conduct site visits, analyse evidence and resolve incidents through appropriate enforcement or education methods to achieve sustainable outcomes and meet customer service delivery standards. Research and utilize available information to support investigations. Resolve breaches of the Resources Management Act, Building Act 2004 and related legislation. Qualifications & Experience At least 5 years of investigative experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., Police, Customs, Fisheries, or similar). Strong knowledge of RMA/BA, evidence handling, investigation, prosecution case files and court procedure. Excellent communication, conflict resolution and coaching/mentoring skills. PEACE interviewing skills required. Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geography, Planning or similar is beneficial but not essential. Current clean driver’s licence required. Salary range: $91,027 to $110,000 plus KiwiSaver contribution. Auckland Council offers a range of employee benefits and flexible working options where possible.
