Job Description
Position Overview To strengthen and maintain Sofitel Queenstown’s luxury brand by delivering strategic, high‑impact marketing initiatives that reflect our identity, values, and positioning in the market. You will support the creation and delivery of quality marketing activities that effectively convey the brand stories of Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa. Key Responsibilities Creatively design and deliver Sofitel Queenstown's social media content, following the calendar and utilising reporting functions for performance analysis. Assist in the development and deployment of communications opportunities that leverage hotel stories and embody the Sofitel brand. Assist in the creation and distribution of impactful monthly EDMs and maintain the database of contacts and clients. Support in the creation of in‑house promotions and advertising opportunities for Hotel outlets; Le Salon Rouge, Left Bank Bistro & Sofitel Spa by L’Occitane, collaborating closely with the sales, reservations, and F&B teams to align marketing campaigns with hotel promotions and events. Confidently support content creation, removal, and enhancement of hotel marketing material across multiple digital channels, including www.sofitel-queenstown.com. Conduct regular audits of merchandising on external distribution sites/brochures where the hotel is represented (e.g., third‑party websites). Plan and execute paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, etc.) to maximise ROI and spend. Monitor and analyse website traffic, conversion rates, and online shopping cart revenue, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Support site inspection activity of key clients and partners. Work with the Regional and Corporate Marketing teams for Accor in the delivery of key initiatives and messaging. Assist with the preparation and implementation of promotional initiatives, both in‑house and externally as requested. Assist in leveraging and promoting sponsorship or partnership opportunities (e.g., Marathon, Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration). Provide assistance with still and video photography – photo shoots and distribution of images (online and offline). Ensure regular monitoring of performance of initiatives through various channels. Assist maintaining online directory listings. Regularly review hotel graphic identity (stationery, signage, collateral) to ensure it is in line with Brand and Hotel Identity. Support in the design of appropriate collateral, in‑house and digital, that encompasses the brands. Support wider department marketing and collateral requirements. Preparation of banquet event orders to ensure accurate and detailed delivery of events. Support Groups & Events Executive with operational teams on aspects of the booking pre‑arrival. Support Groups & Events Executive as a point of contact for MICE enquiries, completing hotel proposals in line with Accor guidelines relating to pricing, presentation and timeframe. Oversee operational aspects of the booking once confirmed, including input of Group block in the hotel Reservations system, updating of rooming list and room allocation (including VIPs and related amenities), invoicing & billing to ensure accurate and correct monies are collected, issuing of banquet event orders, liaising with internal teams on all aspects of the booking pre‑arrival, meet & greet with client, being present at key periods during the event, post‑event follow‑up and driving loyalty via repeat business. Maintain MICE database of key contacts & clients and assist with tracking the monthly commissionable Room Revenue for MICE groups and reporting to Revenue and Finance. Co‑ordinate site inspection activity, support the hosting of hotel famils for current and prospective clients. Ensure comprehensive utilisation of Groups and Events systems. Co‑ordinate aspects of non‑residential conference & events, i.e. group breakfast, day meetings from local businesses. Support in local relationship‑building in view of MICE business. Achieve the required guest & client satisfaction levels. Support in the co‑ordination and production of MICE related collateral & material, i.e., proposal templates, conference kits, banquet packs, etc. Ensuring that telephones are answered and all voicemails actioned within the pre‑set Accor guidelines. Provide all departments with MICE movements one month out from arrival, to ensure maximisation of opportunities for revenue generation. Assist in implementation of Loyalty initiatives including the coordination of offers. Qualifications Proven experience in digital marketing, preferably in the hospitality or luxury industry. Proficiency in design programmes. Strong understanding of SEO, SEM and social media advertising. Proficiency in digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and other content management systems (CMS). Strong analytical skills to assess digital campaign performance and optimise strategies. Self‑motivated, ability to multi‑task and work autonomously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong eye for detail and creativity. Project professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills. Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily. Organises time and work efficiently. Has the aptitude and willingness to undertake further development with Sofitel.
