Waikato Hospital, Pharmacy Services – Fixed Term or Secondment opportunity for existing HealthNZ staff (up to six months), full time, 40 hours per week. About the Role An opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to join our team at Waikato Hospital as a Pharmacist for Clinical Trials and Research on a fixed‑term basis to provide parental leave cover. You will work alongside an experienced Senior Pharmacist for Clinical Trials & Research and two pharmacy technicians, and be an integral part of the pharmacy provision of clinical trials at Waikato Hospital. You will be involved in key elements of clinical trials, from the supply and handling of trial medications to completion of trial documentation and assisting with trial set‑ups. Use your communication and organisational skills to liaise with our pharmacy compounding unit, hospital clinical trial teams, and external research partners, helping to ensure the smooth coordination and successful delivery of clinical trials. If you have not worked in clinical trials previously this position is an opportunity to gain experience in this field and learn about how clinical trials are conducted. Depending on the experience a candidate brings to the role, this position may be offered on the core pharmacist scale or as a senior pharmacist. About the Service Pharmacy Services at Waikato Hospital provides services to the hospital and to six smaller rural hospitals and care units across the Waikato region. The pharmacy service is divided into five services: Clinical Services, Dispensary and Supply, Oncology, Haematology and Compounding Service, Quality and Safe Use of Medicines (QSUM) and our onsite community pharmacy service (Pharmacy onMeade). About you A current annual practising certificate with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. At least 5 years of post‑registration pharmacy experience (for a senior pharmacist). Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Good time management and organisational skills. Able to work effectively independently and in a team. Clinical trials experience is advantageous.
