About the Role Counties Manukau Health serves one of Aotearoas most diverse and fastgrowing populations. Our Patient Blood Management (PBM) service plays a key role in enhancing patient safety and optimising care across surgical, medical, and highrisk pathways. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join this evolving service. As a CNS within the PBM service, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist expertise to support safe, effective bloodmanagement practices. Working in partnership with clinicians, senior medical staff, and advanced nursing roles, you will deliver expert advice and decision support for patients requiring PBM interventions. You will lead quality initiatives, support evidencebased practice, and contribute to service development that strengthens PBM outcomes across CM Health. Key Responsibilities Deliver specialist PBM advice and advanced clinical decision support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, evidencebased bloodmanagement strategies. Lead PBM quality improvement activities, audits, and datadriven initiatives. Provide education, coaching, and clinical support to nursing and medical staff. Support service innovation, guideline development, and PBM pathway optimisation. Uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi and champion equity for Māori and Pacific communities. Partner with the Clinical Nurse Specialist (Transfusion Medicine) and Patient Blood Management Nurse Practitioner to deliver high-quality advice, education, training programmes, and clinical services that support best practice in transfusion medicine and patient blood management. About You Registered Nurse with a current NZ practising certificate. Minimum of 5 years post registration experience, ideally in perioperative care, haematology, critical care, or transfusionrelated practice. Postgraduate nursing qualification (PG Cert/PG Dip or working towards). Strong leadership, communication, and relationshipbuilding skills.
