We’re looking for Truck Drivers to support the Napier Port Transformation (NPT) Project, contributing to the movement of cargo and supporting evolving transport operations across the port on a fixed term basis. This role is ideal for a Class 5 Truck Driver who’s ready to hit the ground running. Provisional start dates are from 26 September 2026. You will step into an innovation-focused operation. You’ll be ensuring seamless integration of services and helping keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. Minimum 24 hours guaranteed per week 12-week fixed term contract , with multiple opportunities available Work in a 24/7 shift environment (including nights and weekends) You must have current Class 5 license You must be eligible to work in New Zealand ROLE INTRO/RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you’ll take on a range of responsibilities that are key to our project success, working as part of a team committed to safe and efficient operations. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for: Transporting containers within the container terminal and between Napier Port and off-site locations (including Thames Street Depot) as required Participating in the phased introduction of autonomous truck operations including: driving the trucks in person in cab supervision of the truck while it drives autonomously remotely supervising the truck while it drives autonomously Operating in accordance with Napier Port’s Just Safety Culture Delivering services in line with customer and product care standards Adhering to all operational procedures and safety requirements ABOUT YOU: You are a reliable and safety-focused driver who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment and who: Holds a current Class 5 Driver License (essential) Is experienced in operating truck and trailer units Has an excellent work ethic Has a reasonable level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role Is reliable Follows instructions and works safely within defined processes Is adaptable and flexible to work within a 24/7 operation across a range of shifts Why Napier Port?
