Job Description

This role sits at the heart of ASB’s data capability uplift. You’ll partner closely with business and technology teams to embed strong data management practices, improve data quality, and enable trusted insights across the organisation. You’ll play a key role in shaping how we manage, govern, and use data — ensuring it is reliable, well understood, and fit for purpose. Responsibilities Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and SMEs to analyse and resolve data issues Perform root cause analysis on data incidents and drive sustainable solutions Support projects to assess data change impacts, including metadata and lineage management Contribute to data management initiatives across governance, tooling, and processes Design and build data quality rules, dashboards, and reporting outputs Collaborate across teams to identify and mitigate data risks and issues Support Data Management Office activities, forums, and governance processes Deliver “right first time” data management and quality outcomes Improve trust and transparency in enterprise data Maintain clear understanding and resolution of data issues and root causes Ensure well‑maintained metadata, lineage, and data quality artefacts Promote adoption of strong data management practices across ASB Increase data capability through education and enablement Qualifications Solid experience in data analysis within medium to large data environments Exposure to data management tooling and methodologies Ability to translate complex data problems into practical solutions Strong stakeholder engagement across technical and non‑technical audiences A collaborative, people‑first approach with confidence to challenge constructively Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset A pragmatic, outcome‑focused approach with strong attention to quality Ideally 2+ years’ experience in Data Management or Data Analysis At ASB, we live our values every day: These guide how we work together, support our customers, and deliver great outcomes.
