Great opportunity to work as a Speech-Language Therapist within the Community Allied Health service, part of Adult Medical & Community Directorate Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders. The Opportunity We have an exciting role available for a permanent, part-time (0.6 FTE), New Zealand registered Speech-language Therapist (SLT) to join our dedicated, supportive and friendly Community SLT Team. This is a progressive, specialist, interdisciplinary service for assessment and rehabilitation for adults within Te Toka Tumai|Aucklands Adult Medical & Community Directorate. This role will also work collaboratively with other SLTs in our Community Rehabilitation (CoRe) team and other disciplines across the service. Being part of our community team, we also offer training and development opportunities for video fluoroscopy. This role is supported by SLT Practice Supervisor and Professional Lead, alongside Service Lead. This role allows you to: Undertake a clinical caseload providing comprehensive and evidence-based care in rehabilitation Work alongside your CoRe and wider Allied Health and Nursing colleagues using an interdisciplinary model to deliver high quality and effective services Contribute to quality and service improvements and development of team members and students as well as themselves On the job training with continuous improvement and development opportunities including a well-established in-service training programme. About the Team / Service / Location Our Community SLT team incorporates both the Community Rehabilitation SLT team and the Allied Health Community SLT team. We offer therapy to clients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders due to a wide variety of conditions, and services are provided in the community, home, clinic and telehealth settings. Our team works across two sites; Greenlane Clinical Centre and Kahui Marino (Point Chevalier). For more information on living and working in Auckland click here About you To be successful, you will need to have the following skills and attributes: Registered member of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists Association (NZSTA) with current Annual Practicing Certificate At least 1 years of post-graduate experience as a Speech-Language Therapist Full and current NZ Drivers licence An understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in an interdisciplinary setting Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
