Job Description
Guide postgraduate students from application to completion, delivering expert advice and exceptional support in a student-focused team. The role also supports the division’s commitment to equity, Māori and Pacific wellbeing, and the University of Waikato’s mission of excellence and cultural responsiveness. Responsibilities Guide postgraduate students from enquiry and application through selection, enrolment, progression and completion. Provide specialist postgraduate academic advice and support decision‑making on graduate pathways. Manage postgraduate student pathway planning and oversee stakeholder engagement. Ensure that systems, policies and services are student‑centred, culturally responsive and aligned with the university’s values. Collaborate with Senior Student Advisors, academic staff and central Student Services to deliver efficient, transparent and inclusive administrative processes. Contribute to student engagement and wellbeing initiatives, fostering a safe and supportive environment. Qualifications Significant experience in an administration support or customer‑focused role. Strong independent work ethic with the ability to carry out delegated tasks and meet deadlines. Exceptional communication skills (listening, written, oral). Robust organisational, prioritisation, and time‑management skills. Outstanding interpersonal and relationship‑management skills, able to relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. Ability to quickly understand and follow procedures, assimilate new information, take initiative and respond proactively to situations. Proactive, quick learner with strong technical skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor. Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $73,235 – $87,024 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience. Full‑time role (37.5 hours per week) based on Hillcrest Campus.
