Test Manager | Te Au Reka Programme – Fixed Term (3 years) Full Time, Wellington CBD

Overview\n

Te AuReka is a large, complex programme that will modernise the administration of justice by replacing highly manual, time‑consuming, paper‑based processes with a new digital case management solution. The role of Test Manager (Implementation Manager) is to lead and coordinate implementation activities across technology, operational readiness and change delivery to ensure successful outcomes and high‑quality delivery of new digital services.

Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Lead implementation planning and coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • \n
  • Manage dependencies between technology, change, operational and external stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Support business readiness, go‑live planning and transition activities.
  • \n
  • Facilitate cross‑functional planning sessions and integrated delivery plans.
  • \n
  • Identify implementation risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • \n
  • Provide strategic advice to programme leaders on implementation options, impacts and constraints.
  • \n
  • Support impact assessments and readiness reviews.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships across business units, delivery teams, vendors and external partners.
  • \n
  • Contribute to governance forums and provide insights on implementation risks and delivery status.
  • \n
  • Champion high‑quality delivery, continuous improvement and collaborative ways of working.
  • \n
Qualifications and Experience\n
    \n
  • Significant test management experience in large, complex environments.
  • \n
  • Proven experience developing and governing enterprise or programme‑level test strategies.
  • \n
  • Strong leadership experience managing and developing testing professionals.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated success providing testing and quality assurance advice to senior executives and governance forums.
  • \n
  • Experience leading testing within Agile, Continuous Delivery or DevOps environments.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical and evidence‑based decision‑making skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • \n
  • Relevant testing qualifications, certifications or equivalent professional experience.
  • \n

Salary\n

Salary range: $128,427 to $176,789, based on skills and experience.
