Restaurant Manager/Cook
Job Description
We are looking for a Restaurant Manager and a Cook to work at Bistro and Bar Corporation Limited T/A ELMO'S Italian Pizza Bar in Auckland.
\nRestaurant Manager is expected to work a minimum of 32-35 hours a week with a weekly payroll. Hours are rostered on a weekly basis and might include weekend shifts.

\nPay Rate: $30- $35 (Restaurant Manager)

Restaurant Manager Duties:
\n- \n
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. \n
- Recruit, train, supervise and support staff to maintain high standards of customer service and performance. \n
- Ensure customers receive excellent service and resolve any complaints in a timely and professional manner. \n
- Plan and carry out promotions, social media activities and special events to attract more customers and increase sales. \n
- Prepare staff rosters, monitor attendance and ensure enough staff are available for each shift. \n
- Manage the ordering, receiving and stock control of food, drinks and other restaurant supplies. \n
- Handle cash, banking, POS transactions and ensure all financial records are accurate. \n
- Review sales, budgets and business reports and work with the owners to improve business performance. \n
- Work with the Head Chef to plan menus, set prices and maintain food quality standards. \n
- Ensure the restaurant, bar and dining areas are clean, tidy and maintained to a high standard. \n
- Organise private functions, group bookings and special events to ensure they run successfully. \n
- Ensure alcohol is served responsibly by following liquor licence rules and checking customer identification when required. \n
- Ensure the restaurant follows all food safety, health and safety, and legal requirements at all times. \n
- Maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and service providers to support smooth business operations. \n
- Review customer feedback and business performance regularly and make improvements to increase customer satisfaction and business growth. \n
Restaurant Manager Requirements:
\n 1. Diploma level 5 qualification (Hospitality or Business) or three years of work
\n experience in a management role in the hospitality sector.
\n 2. Good oral/written communication skills.
\n 3. Strong analytical/decision-making skills.
\n 4. Basic computer literacy.
Cook Job Responsibilities:

- Prepare, cook and present food according to the restaurant's recipes and quality standards. \n
- Assist the Chef in planning menus and creating new seasonal dishes. \n
- Check the quality, taste, portion size and presentation of food before serving. \n
- Estimate food requirements, monitor stock levels and help order ingredients when needed. \n
- Check all food items and deliveries to ensure they are fresh and of good quality. \n
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and maintain good food hygiene at all times. \n
- Train and guide kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen procedures. \n
- Control food costs, reduce wastage and use ingredients efficiently while maintaining food quality. \n
Cook Requirements:
\n- \n
- Hold a relevant qualification in Cookery(Level 2 or 3) or have at least three years of experience as a Cook. \n
- Have good knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen operations. \n
- Be able to work well in a busy kitchen and follow instructions from the Chef or Restaurant Manager. \n
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. \n
