Job Description

We are looking for a Restaurant Manager and a Cook to work at Bistro and Bar Corporation Limited T/A ELMO'S Italian Pizza Bar in Auckland.

Restaurant Manager is expected to work a minimum of 32-35 hours a week with a weekly payroll. Hours are rostered on a weekly basis and might include weekend shifts.

\n

Cook is expected to work a minimum of 32-35 hours a week with a weekly payroll. Hours are rostered on a weekly basis and might include weekend shifts.

\n

Pay Rate: $30- $35 (Restaurant Manager)
\n $25.50- $ 28 ( Cook)

Restaurant Manager Duties:

\n
    \n
  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
  2. \n
  3. Recruit, train, supervise and support staff to maintain high standards of customer service and performance.
  4. \n
  5. Ensure customers receive excellent service and resolve any complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  6. \n
  7. Plan and carry out promotions, social media activities and special events to attract more customers and increase sales.
  8. \n
  9. Prepare staff rosters, monitor attendance and ensure enough staff are available for each shift.
  10. \n
  11. Manage the ordering, receiving and stock control of food, drinks and other restaurant supplies.
  12. \n
  13. Handle cash, banking, POS transactions and ensure all financial records are accurate.
  14. \n
  15. Review sales, budgets and business reports and work with the owners to improve business performance.
  16. \n
  17. Work with the Head Chef to plan menus, set prices and maintain food quality standards.
  18. \n
  19. Ensure the restaurant, bar and dining areas are clean, tidy and maintained to a high standard.
  20. \n
  21. Organise private functions, group bookings and special events to ensure they run successfully.
  22. \n
  23. Ensure alcohol is served responsibly by following liquor licence rules and checking customer identification when required.
  24. \n
  25. Ensure the restaurant follows all food safety, health and safety, and legal requirements at all times.
  26. \n
  27. Maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and service providers to support smooth business operations.

  29. Review customer feedback and business performance regularly and make improvements to increase customer satisfaction and business growth.

Restaurant Manager Requirements:
\n 1. Diploma level 5 qualification (Hospitality or Business) or three years of work
\n experience in a management role in the hospitality sector.
\n 2. Good oral/written communication skills.
\n 3. Strong analytical/decision-making skills.
\n 4. Basic computer literacy.

\n

Cook Job Responsibilities:

    \n
  1. Prepare, cook and present food according to the restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
  2. \n
  3. Assist the Chef in planning menus and creating new seasonal dishes.
  4. \n
  5. Check the quality, taste, portion size and presentation of food before serving.
  6. \n
  7. Estimate food requirements, monitor stock levels and help order ingredients when needed.
  8. \n
  9. Check all food items and deliveries to ensure they are fresh and of good quality.
  10. \n
  11. Keep the kitchen clean, organised and maintain good food hygiene at all times.
  12. \n
  13. Train and guide kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen procedures.
  14. \n
  15. Control food costs, reduce wastage and use ingredients efficiently while maintaining food quality.

Cook Requirements:

\n
    \n
  1. Hold a relevant qualification in Cookery(Level 2 or 3) or have at least three years of experience as a Cook.
  2. \n
  3. Have good knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen operations.
  4. \n
  5. Be able to work well in a busy kitchen and follow instructions from the Chef or Restaurant Manager.
  6. \n
  7. Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
