About the role\nHalter has scaled quickly and is serving customers across New Zealand, the US, Australia and Canada, with more markets on the way. We’re looking for a Group Accountant to help keep our finances sharp as we grow across borders. Key responsibilities will include:

- Working directly with our external auditors, owning audit requests and keeping things moving smoothly through the process. \n
- Researching technical accounting positions and drafting the management papers that back them up. \n
- Staying ahead of accounting and tax obligations and filing deadlines across multiple entities, so nothing sneaks up on us. \n
- Working alongside our financial control team to support with group‑level month‑end tasks, including intercompany recharges and reconciliations. \n
- Digging into accounting and tax requirements in new markets as we decide where to expand next. \n
- Experimenting with AI to sharpen and streamline how the group function works. \n
You will also gain exposure to other areas of finance, including finance operations, treasury, FP&A and finance systems.
Who we’re looking for\nWe are looking for a passionate, hardworking team player, who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is eager to learn and get stuck into solving hard problems. Key capabilities and experience include:

- At least 3 years’ work experience, newly qualified CA or equivalent. \n
- A strong technical background including knowledge of NZ IFRS or US GAAP (or both). \n
- Experience dealing with multinational enterprises and consolidations. \n
- Experience with auditing processes. \n

This role sits at the centre of how we account for a business spanning multiple jurisdictions and the complexities of managing varying currencies, tax regimes and accounting frameworks. You’ll have a direct impact on building the processes, controls and judgments that underpin Halter’s next phase of growth.
