About this role\n

The Senior Regional Emergency Management Advisor sits within the Regional Partnerships Business Group. The role engages with regional CDEM groups, local authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate and influence New Zealand’s emergency management system, ensuring positive outcomes for communities before, during and after emergencies.

  • Mentoring, coaching, influencing and providing advice
  • \n
  • Facilitating support to build and sustain capacity and capability
  • \n
  • Connecting regional emergency management with national strategy, planning, standards and guidelines
  • \n
  • Identifying and communicating risk and supporting connected solutions
  • \n
  • Understanding the dynamics and sensitivities of vulnerable communities
  • \n
  • Performing and supporting assurance processes
  • \n
  • Deploying to a part of NewZealand in response to emergency events to provide timely information, guidance, support and assurance locally and nationally
  • \n

Skills & Experience\n
    \n
  • Experience working with people from diverse perspectives and backgrounds
  • \n
  • Understanding of TeAoMāori and, especially, skills in engaging and partnering with Māori (desired)
  • \n
  • Experience in emergency management and/or hazard risk management
  • \n
What we offer\n

The indicative base salary range for this role is $127,708–$139,451. A vehicle with full private use (salary sacrifice) will be provided. Security Requirements\n

Applicants must be a NewZealand citizen or NewZealand Permanent Resident and hold a full NZ Drivers Licence.
