Job Description

With an increasing number of residential building and property development projects underway, H Build is looking for a Bookkeeper to assist with the company's daily financial operations. The successful candidate will support the management of project costs, supplier payments, subcontractor invoices, payroll, and general bookkeeping, helping ensure the smooth financial operation of our business.

Tasks

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all financial transactions relating to residential construction projects, subcontractor payments, supplier invoices and operational expenses are properly recorded using accounting software and internal financial systems.

  • Reconcile company bank accounts, project accounts and general ledger balances on a regular basis, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
  • \n
  • Monitor project cash flow, operational expenditure and lines of credit in coordination with management and the external accountant, assisting with financial planning for ongoing construction and development projects.
  • \n
  • Prepare, process and reconcile customer progress payment invoices, supplier invoices, subcontractor payment claims and PAYE obligations, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
  • \n
  • Verify financial transactions relating to construction projects, investigate discrepancies between supplier statements, purchase orders, bank transactions and project records, and promptly report irregularities or potential financial risks to management.
  • \n
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, project cost reports, financial statements, budgets and expenditure analyses using accounting software and financial reporting systems to support business decision-making.

  • Maintain accurate financial documentation for construction contracts, supplier agreements, purchase records and project-related expenses, ensuring records are complete and readily available for auditing, taxation and compliance purposes.

  • Support compliance with Inland Revenue (IRD) requirements, GST returns, PAYE reporting and other statutory financial obligations by preparing financial reports and coordinating with the company's accountant where required.

Requirement

l Must have a bachelor's degree or above in accounting.
