Education Program Clinical Advisor (Senior Medical Officer)

Multiple locations across the Wellington Region; Permanent, part time – 4 hours per week.

The Education Program Clinical Advisor provides senior clinical leadership and educational expertise to support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of pre‑vocational medical education programmes. This includes coordination and delivery of training, monitoring and evaluating programme effectiveness, and liaison with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and Health Workforce New Zealand (HWNZ) on compliance and RMO education/training at CCHV.

The RMO Unit facilitates linkages between and provides support for all those involved in RMO management functions within CCHV and across the sub‑regional districts, ensuring consistency of management practices, employment agreement compliance, and administration of RMO employment issues. It also sources and selects RMOs for the sub‑regional districts.

• Develop, deliver and continuously improve pre‑vocational medical education programmes.

• Coordinate and deliver training sessions for RMOs.
\n
• Monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness.
\n
• Coordinate with MCNZ and HWNZ on compliance and liaison on RMO education/training.
\n
• Support RMO management functions within CCHV and sub‑regional districts.
\n
• Assist in sourcing and selection of RMOs.
\n

• Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
\n
• Hold a current practising certificate.
\n
• Knowledge of the basic skills expected of Interns and an understanding of the MCNZ Pre‑vocational Curriculum and training expectations.

• Ability to work with supervising specialists and be outcome‑focused with prioritisation, goal setting and result achievement.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information and concepts to a range of audiences.
