About the Role We are seeking a skilled and passionate Occupational Therapist to provide clinical excellence and quality patient-centred care. There are opportunities across Waitakere Hospital, North Shore Hospital, and in the community, across the West, North or Rodney sites. Overall, this position will give you the opportunity to provide clinical service in the management of inpatients within acute general medical, surgical, orthopaedic and older adult rehabilitation settings, or community based patients, and assist in the ongoing provision and development of high-quality services within Waitematā District Health Board. This casual position is well suited to those already working part-time who want non-permanent additional hours and the flexibility that a casual contract offers; or to those wishing to keep their clinical experience current but who may not wish to be committed to permanent contracted hours eg. those who are studying part-time or who need flexible / school hours secondary to childcare commitments. About the Team/Service/Location Our occupational therapy service spans across acute inpatients, inpatient rehab and community settings. Within the acute team, occupational therapists work across a wide range of wards, including (but not limited to) orthopaedics, surgical, general medicine and ED/ADU. Our community service supports people in their own homes, focusing on complex equipment provision, housing modifications, and wheelchair and seating needs across a diverse range of conditions. Across all settings we deliver high-quality care to our Waitematā community. As a casual staff member, you may have the opportunity to work across both acute and community teams, contributing to a variety of clinical areas depending on service needs and your skill set.
