Job Description
Hamilton City and Waikato District Councils have formed a publicly owned, Council-controlled Organisation (CCO) to deliver water services across Hamilton city and Waikato district. The company is called IAWAİ - Flowing Waters and will take over the provision of water services from 1 July 2026. This transition will occur in stages such as the current Watercare contract for Waikato District Council transferring to the CCO on 1 July 2026. Responsibilities In this role, you'll support a range of administrative, finance, quality, and improvement activities, helping to keep things running smoothly while making a real contribution to the team's success. You'll bring a full, clean driver's licence and a genuine willingness to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed. Experience in local government would be an advantage, but it's not essential. More important is your ability to learn quickly, work well with others, and bring energy, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do. Qualifications A proven track record of thinking differently, acting with integrity, working together and making it happen. Self‐awareness that mindset is the foundation of performance and an ability to develop self and others in this regard. Ability to work without supervision and prioritise workload. Attention to detail and commitment to produce high quality work. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders (internal and external). Computer, keyboard and data entry skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Tertiary‑level qualification – preferably within Science or Engineering. Experience within public sector and industrial industries. Experience in the application of the Resource Management Act (RMA). Current, clean Full NZ Drivers licence. Maintains confidentiality and exercises judgement and discretion.
